"Corps" Values:
Personal, Corporate, & Governmental Integrity: We believe that an individual's integrity of is of paramount import to effective and efficient functioning in life. Having integrity connotes being honest, forthright, dependable, fair, committed, and consistent. It also connotes valuing and respecting individuals and the "law of the land."
Personal, Corporate, & Governmental Responsibility & Accountability: We believe that individuals, corporations, and governments must hold themselves accountable for their actions and activities-and the results thereof. We understand that reasonable mistakes and misjudgments are inevitable, and we can forgive them; we can neither accept nor forgive the failure to accept responsibility and accountability for them.
The American Way: We believe in the American Way-"life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness"-as set forth in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America, and the Constitution of the State of California. While we acknowledge that, like the individuals that comprise them, governments are not perfect, our system is fundamentally sound and is worth defending and perpetuating, amending it as necessary to accommodate a changing world.
Education: We believe that education is fundamental to good citizenship, the rule of law, and democratic government. We must strive to ensure that all American citizens (and indeed, to the extent possible, citizens of other nation states) receive a good education, one that will enable them to participate fully life and especially in democratic processes, including: English language reading and communication skills, basic mathematical skills, world & United States history, economics, and political science.
Family Values: We believe that family units are the very foundation of society and thus are the key to developing our future. We must strive to provide families both the leadership and the resources to enable them to raise and educate "our" children and successive generations of Americans successfully and competitively, and to inculcate in them the importance of integrity, responsibility, accountability, and respect for individuals as well as for law and order.
Free Enterprise: We believe in the free enterprise system and that, in order to foster economic growth, America's businesses must remain competitive in the marketplace. We must strive together-citizens, government, labor, and the business community-to foster the competitiveness of our businesses while also striving to provide a reasonable standard of living for every citizen.
Law & Order: We believe that maintaining law and order is vital to the continuing success of our society and its economic viability. Enacting fair and reasonable legislation, tempered by wisdom in the legislative process, is the first imperative, while enforcing those laws is the second. Our public officials must lead by example.
The Environment: We believe that the cosmos is an ecosystem and that every organism is a building block of it. As the most intelligent and capable of all organisms, it is incumbent upon humans to preserve and protect the cosmos, lest we destroy it.
Inclusiveness & Cooperation: We believe that diversity fosters the creativity and innovation so necessary to achieving and maintaining greatness, and, that the best results will be achieved, not by confrontational partisanship, but by inclusiveness, collaboration, and teamwork, all focused toward creating a better future for citizens.
Service: We believe in "service before self," in serving our country, our community, and our families, and in serving our comrades-in-arms, past present, and future.
